Doug Harris has practiced for over 25 years primarily in the areas of commercial and debtor-creditor law, representing both debtors and creditors, with an emphasis on bankruptcy and business reorganization. He represents both debtors and creditors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases. In addition, he represents creditors in commercial collection actions throughout the state of Washington.


Doug Harris received his bachelor of arts (1977) in Political Science with high honors from San Diego State University and his law degree (1981) from Santa Clara University.


Doug Harris is admitted to practice in the states of Washington and California (inactive status). He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court Western District of Washington and the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Washington and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association Credit-Debtor Section and served as past president of the East King County Bar Association. He is a member of the King County Bar Association and served on the Board of Trustees and the Audit Committee (2001-2004). He is also a member of the King County Bar Association Bankruptcy Section. Doug Harris is past president of the Eastside Legal Assistance Program (ELAP) and served on its initial Board of Trustees and was the recipient of Pro Bono Award and Volunteer Attorney Award. In addition he has lectured on his areas of practice for the National Business Institute.
